Step-by-step
Step 1
To decorate your Easter eggs, you’ll need edding 3D double liners and medium acrylic markers in the colours of your choice. You can see all the materials you need clearly laid out in this photo.
Step 2
Place a small amount of water in the bottom of the bowl. Next, select the edding 3D double liner you wish to use for your paint dip, open the broad tip and squeeze out your chosen acrylic paint, making sure you squeeze the tube firmly to produce a nice colour.
Step 3
Mix the paint and water thoroughly.
Step 4
Create a loop from the plastic tie and attach it to your blown egg using strips of adhesive tape.
Step 5
This will allow you to dip your egg without any problems and avoid touching the paint.
Step 6
Dip your egg up to the halfway point and hold over the bowl for a short time to catch any drips.
Step 7
Next, use the loop to hang your egg from the wooden stick to dry.
Step 8
Before using for the first time, your acrylic markers must be activated as follows: first, shake the marker vigorously with the cap still on, then remove the cap. With the nib facing down, prime the pen on a piece of test paper, carefully pressing down on the paper a few times until ink fills the tip. The marker is now ready for use. Once you’ve finished using the marker, always put the cap back securely and store horizontally. The medium acrylic marker you can see here is classy mauve.
Step 9
A really nice effect can be created by adding different coloured stripes and extending these onto the half of your egg that’s been dipped. In this photo, you can see how we’ve done it using a medium acrylic marker in pastel blue.
