A symbol of peace for your journal

This idea is a beautiful way to mark both the International Day of Peace on 21^st September and World Peace Day on 17^th November. Once finished, you can use your dove – a powerful symbol of peace – to decorate the front page of your journal, or even frame it and put it on display. Step-by-step

Step 1

Download and print the template and place it in position. In our example, we’ve chosen to use blue, steel blue, grey, pink, yellow and green pens to create our design.

Step 2

Copy or trace the dove design onto your paper using a pencil. Now use your edding 1300 colour pens to draw round the outline of the dove and fill in the words associated with peace in different colours. Just let your creative juices flow!

Step 3

Colour in the sun in yellow (obviously!).

Step 4

Next, shade in the dove in grey, leaving a white outline around each of the words to create a 3D effect.

Step 5

If you want to use your dove as a cover sheet for your journal, you can cut out your design as shown in the picture. Finally, add a green olive branch to the dove’s beak.
