You can see all the materials at a glance in our photo. We used the following spray colours in our example: pastel yellow (colour code 915), pastel rose (914), pastel blue (916), pastel green (917), powdery peach (930).
First of all, cut out a circle of cardboard measuring approx. 50 cm diameter. This will be your template for the holes. Using the permanent marker, mark out three circles on the tarpaulin (ideally, one higher up and two lower down). Now cut out the holes.
You should fully protect your work surface beforehand by covering it with film or paper. Next, use the masking tape to divide up the tarpaulin into your desired colour sections.
Before you spray, carefully mask any areas that you don't want painted in that particular colour, securing everything with masking tape to prevent it slipping. It's best to start with the pastel yellow semicircle at the bottom. You can see in our photo how it should look once you've done the masking.
Now shake the spray can vigorously for 3 minutes. Remove the sprayhead and prise off the safety ring with the aid of the screwdriver.
To ensure that the paint covers more evenly, we recommend that you spray continuously at a distance of approx. 25 cm, using horizontal and vertical strokes. In our Spray basics section we’ve got handy tips to help you achieve the perfect spraying technique.
Allow the fresh coat of paint to dry thoroughly (approx 30 mins.). Now carefully mask all the sections, leaving only the area next to the yellow one exposed. Now it's time for the next colour, which is pastel rose. Repeat these steps until you've covered the entire target sheet with your chosen colours.
