Step-by-step
Step 1
Cut out a strip of paper the right size for the jar, then use your imagination to sketch your pattern on it with the edding 1800 profipen, leaving plenty of space for colouring in. In our example we wrote all sorts of interjections in every direction across the page. If you prefer, you can sketch in pencil first, before tracing over the outlines with the fineliner.
Step 2
Attach the strip of paper to the inside of the jar using adhesive tape. This is to keep it exactly in position while you draw the pattern.
Step 3
Draw the outlines of your design on the jar using the white edding 751 gloss paint marker and colour everything in (making sure the outlines are fully dry first to prevent smears).
Before using a gloss paint marker, you need to activate it: Shake the marker vigorously with the cap still on; remove the cap, place the nib on absorbent paper and pump it up and down a few times until ink appears in the nib. Now you’re ready to get drawing. And after use, always store the marker horizontally.
Step 4
Now take out the paper – and you’re done!
Step 5
This jar makes the perfect container for your favourite sweets.
