Step-by-step
Step 1
To design the motif, you’ll need the following colours: the edding 5400 acrylic 3D double liner in pastel yellow, classy mauve, berry, mellow mint, opulent turquoise and gentian blue, plus an edding acrylic and oil pad. First, print out the template and lay it on the paper to transfer it.
Step 2
Simply go over the lines with a pencil so that the outlines press through to the acrylic pad, making sure you press hard enough. Remove the template and use a pencil to go over the pressed-through lines once again if you need to make them more visible.
Step 3
Now it’s time to add some colour: take the pastel yellow 3D double liner and open the broad tip. By squeezing the tube and making small circular motions, paint the lighter (non-shaded) side of the acorn cup.
Step 4
Paint the shaded sides as well as the cup of the second acorn in classy mauve.
Step 5
In the same way, work the berry-coloured paint into the (still damp) classy mauve areas by making small circles, allowing the colours to merge. Now let everything dry thoroughly.
Step 6
It’s now time to paint the lower part of the acorns: in mellow mint, colour in the lower half of the acorn using broad strokes of paint, tapering off towards the bottom.
Step 7
Blend opulent turquoise into the damp, mint-coloured section before working in extra colour gradients in gentian blue.
Step 8
To finish, on the shaded sides of the acorn cups, use gentian blue to apply individual strokes and extra touches to the berry-coloured area to lend a hint of structure to your picture and to create an even more vibrant effect.
