Step-by-step

Step 1
For this idea, you'll need a selection of edding 4600 textile pens in bright colours. To ensure as much of the ink is absorbed by the fabric as possible, we recommend that you wash, dry and iron the bibs first. We’ve got a template available for the fruits, although simple shapes like these are pretty easy to draw freehand.

Step 2
Place a piece of cardboard under the bib so that the ink doesn't soak through to the table. Print out the template and have it ready for copying. To be on the safe side, you can make a faint sketch of the image in pencil first. Once you’ve done that, go over the lines with a textile pen in your chosen colour.

Step 3
Now use the textile pens to colour in the fruits any way you like. The fine nib works beautifully for diagonal shading, as shown in our photo. Remember to leave gaps for the eyes, cheeks and mouth as these will really bring your motifs to life.

Step 4
Bibs in particular need to be washable at 60°C. That's why it's important to heat-fix your design afterwards by ironing it on the no-steam setting.
