Fortune cookies made of paper

A lucky surprise for Valentine’s Day

Fortune cookies are a really popular snack, often served at Chinese restaurants or at New Year’s Eve parties. Our Valentine’s fortune cookies are made of paper so, although you can’t eat them, they make lovely good luck tokens that you can easily make yourself. Hidden inside are handwritten messages which can be personalised to match the wishes of your loved ones. You can decorate the fortune cookies however you like with the edding 1340 brush pen – and thanks to the Brush Pen Colour Mixer, you have a virtually endless colour palette at your fingertips!

You will need:
  • White paper
  • edding 1340 brush pens and the Brush Pen Colour Mixer (included in the Colour Happy Box)
  • edding 1800 profipen in black
  • Templates for the heart motif and Valentine’s messages
  • Scissors, pencil, UHU glue stick
Step-by-step instructions:
  1. Print out the round heart motif in the size you want and cut it out.
  2. Colour in the hearts any way you like with an edding 1340 brush pen. You can also mix colours as the fancy takes you by using the Colour Mixer.
  3. Fold the paper in half and press down gently in the centre.
  4. Open the circle again and turn it over so the pattern is facing downwards.
  5. Roll the paper loosely and gently crease in the centre, pressing with your index finger.
  6. Holding the fortune cookie in place, slide the fortune into the paper roll so a little bit is still visible.
  7. Gently bring the two ends of the fortune cookie together, add a dot of glue on the inside near the crease. Pinch together to secure.

Your Valentine’s Day surprise is now finished!
