We gather and use your data in order to provide our services. When you visit our websites, the protocols of our servers temporarily record the domain name or the IP address of your computer, the file request of the client (file name and URL), the http response code and the web page from which you came to our website. Once your browsing session has ended, such data is deleted.
Cookies do not do any harm to your PC, and do not contain any viruses. You have the opportunity to set your browser in such a way that such cooks are not even saved in the first place or that the cookies are deleted at the end of your browsing session. Please note, however, in that respect, that you may, in this case, not necessarily be able to use all the functions of our website.
In addition, we use your data for purposes provided for under applicable law. In order to reveal any abuse (spam, viruses, worms, etc.), and to detect and remedy faults, we save your IP address for seven days.
Some data needs to be passed on to third parties in order to comply with contractual and statutory requirements.
To external service providers for data processing: If service providers come into contact with personal data of our customers it is done within the scope of "contract data processing". This is a purpose explicitly provided for under applicable law (cf. Sec. 11 Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG)). Edding remains responsible for protecting your data in such a case as well. The service provider exclusively works in accordance with our instructions, which we ensure through stringent contractual provisions, technical and organisational measures and supplementary checks.
Statutory disclosure obligations: In certain cases we are statutorily obliged to transmit data to a state authority requesting it. Upon having been presented with a court decision to this effect, we are, under Sec. 101 German Copyright Act (UrhG), obliged to provide information to holders of copyrights and ancillary copyrights on customers who are said to have offered copyright-protected works on peer-to-peer file-sharing networks. In such cases, the information we provide contains the user ID of an IP address assigned at the time of the request, as well as, if known, the name and address of the customer.
We otherwise do not pass on any data to third parties unless you have explicitly consented to it or it is provided for under applicable law.
Within the scope of the statutory regulations, we set up usage profiles under a pseudonym. We may use these for advertising and market research. It is not possible to directly infer your identity from such usage profiles. The profile data is not linked to further personal information about you. You may oppose the creation of the usage profile at any time.
Data is gathered and saved when you use the edding websites, using technologies of etracker GmbH (hereinafter referred to as “etracker”) for marketing purposes and in order to optimise your user experience. Usage profiles may be created from such data under a pseudonym. Cookies may be utilised for this purpose. Cookies are small text files, which are stored locally in the cache of the web browser of the visitor to the site. Cookies enable our servers to recognise your web browser. The data gathered using the etracker technologies is not used to identify the visitor to this website personally, nor merged with personal data on the bearer of the pseudonym, without specific consent being granted by the affected party. The authorisation granted by you to gather and store data about you may be revoked at any time with effect for the future.
You can obtain further information on protecting your data when Google services are utilised at the following links:
Some edding web pages contain buttons of social media networks, with which you can recommend edding’s products and services to your friends and acquaintances. So that you retain full control over your data, we display greyed-out images of the respective functions (Facebook "Like" button, Google +1, Twitter button), instead of the actual social plug-ins, when the page loads. Only by clicking on the check mark next to the images is the exchange of data activated by the respective social plug-in being loaded with the website. If you activate a plug-in with a mouseclick, the following data may be transmitted to the website operators:
You may revoke your consent to the social plug-ins being displayed on this page, with effect for the future. The next time you retrieve the page, a greyed-out image is then shown again instead of the active social plug-in, and no further data is transmitted.
Essentially, your data is processed in Germany. In individual cases, the data may also be processed abroad if it is statutorily admissible.
To protect your data from unauthorised access and abuse, we have taken extensive technical and operational safety precautions under German law.
You may request free information on the scope, origin and recipients of the stored data, as well as the purpose for which your data is stored.
You may at any time request the correction of any incorrect data.
If you have any questions, comments or requests for correction and/or you wish to object to the storage of any data, please contact our Data Protection Officer at firstname.lastname@example.org.
