Decorative DIY concrete bowls

Celebrating the fresh pastel colours of spring

Whether used in construction or as a decorative material, concrete is a wonderfully versatile material because it can be cast into almost any shape. It has long been a feature of gardens in the form of ornaments and plant-pot saucers, but did you know that it can also be used to make accessories for inside the home? Specialist art and craft retailers stock a wide range of concrete and moulds for craft projects and hobbies, and it’s so easy to use that even beginners can achieve fabulous results. Once the bowls are cast, you can decorate them with edding permanent spray paints to match the decor of your room. You might want to create a simple but trendy retro look. Or you may prefer to bring out your own personal style with lovely springtime pastel shades. For a lovely effect, display several bowls together in different sizes and a variety of colour combinations. In our example we’ve used mellow mint, blossom blue and light ivory for three different DIY concrete bowls.
