Legamaster
New products, new markets, new legal structure
Back to the Future – Legamaster becomes a GmbH once more
(Ahrensburg, 16.02.2010)
Looking ahead, edding is almost turning the wheel of history back again. When, in 1998 - following the purchase of the Dutch firm Lega - edding's Group brand planMASTER was merged to form the Legamaster brand, the specialists for visual communication initially operated as an independent legal entity before being integrated as a division of edding. In the era of modern methods of presentation and interactive computer technology, Legamaster - with its high-tech products that require a lot of customer support - no longer goes with the traditional pens and markers available from edding. By formally separating Legamaster and transforming it into a separate GmbH, edding is seeing the value of having different divisions and sales structures.
According to Per Ledermann, Director of edding AG, "Legamaster will continue to be an important part of the edding Group. By separating it off in this way, our hope is, however, that each division will be able to retain the ideal conditions for growth, capable of developing in their own individual manner, in the best way possible."
The Legamaster brand from the house of edding has established itself as one of the market leaders in Europe in the field of visual communication. Products available from Legamaster range from whiteboards, pinboards and flipcharts to wall-rail systems and projection screens. The new entity, Legamaster GmbH in Germany, is officially a subsidiary of Legamaster International founded in the Netherlands, and will cultivate the markets in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The Directors in Germany are Per Ledermann and Danielle Bazuin, at the same time serving as directors of Legamaster International.
Stefan Koritke, Director of Sales and Marketing of Legamaster GmbH, is looking forward to the processes of change that lie ahead: "In future, our customers will receive special, direct support - something quite special in this form in the market. It will begin with a specialist field sales team: six project consultants will provide our dealer partners with technical customer support nationwide, supporting our end customers on the ground. In the sales back office, we will have genuine experts assigned to individual areas, where they will be able to implement even complex requirements."
Legamaster will continue to sell classic presentation products such as whiteboards, pinboards and flipcharts and is even set to present some new developments in the coming months in this area; however, Legamaster sees its greatest potential for growth in high-tech products such as interactive whiteboards or its most recent Innovation, the "e-Table" - a glass table which uses the latest technology to recreate an interactive computer surface.
According to Koritke "we have planned some powerful new developments which will raise the bar in the market in terms of product range and service."
