Step-by-step
Step 1
Draw faint circles on the paper the same size as the magnet; the best way is to place the plastic cabochon directly onto the paper and draw round it.
Step 2
Draw your chosen design using the edding 1800 fineliner.
Step 3
Coat the base of the glass cabochon with glue and press it onto the design into position, making sure that no air bubbles are trapped. Allow to dry thoroughly.
Step 4
Cut round it with scissors and stick it carefully onto the metal mount. And there you have it – you’ve designed your very own magnet!
Step 5
Tip: You can make items of jewellery, such as rings, pendants and bracelets in the same way. Your local craft store will have a large selection of cabochons to choose from. You can decorate them using edding gel rollers and super-fine edding 1800 fineliners.
