Step-by-step
Step 1
Draw simple patterns to start with, such as swirls, lines and dots. Simply choose a colour and get drawing! With its fine tip, the edding 4600 textile pen is ideal for detailed drawing, whereas the edding 4500 textile marker is great for colouring in larger shapes.
If the pattern is rather intricate, we recommend sketching it on paper first (the edding 3000 permanent marker is ideal for this), then place the design inside the lampshade so it shows through.
Step 2
Next, go over the design with the textile marker. After applying a design, we usually recommend ironing the fabric without steam, to fix the colour and make it washable up to 60°C, but this step should be omitted for lampshades.
Mount the shade onto the frame – and there, your new-look lamp is finished!
