A decorative idea that ticks all the right boxes!

As the dutiful keepers of our business correspondence, postcards from friends or the latest telephone bill, letter boxes truly are part and parcel of our everyday life. And, yet, hardly anyone pays much attention to these loyal recipients of our personal mail. For, with their colourless exteriors and traces of day-to-day wear and tear, letter boxes and newspaper holders are not exactly something to write home about. Happily, edding offers two hobby markers as ideal tools for a letter-box make-over. By using edding’s paint makers and deco markers, you can add a splash of colour to the lid, the slot and the box itself.

Whether lined up in a row, or simply standing all alone; whether with or without a newspaper holder: the letter box acts as our faithful servant, keeping us posted from Monday to Saturday. Ever patient, letter boxes accept an average of 2 to 3 letters - and the odd small parcel – every day. Yet, for all their virtues, you would hardly call them “mail models”. For, when all is said and done, it is not always simply what’s on the inside that counts.

You can turn your practical letter box into a veritable eye catcher in a matter of moments. For best results, use the deco markers or paint markers from edding. With twelve different colours and two different stroke widths to choose from, the deco markers from edding can transform even the drabbest of letter boxes. Making every day, quite literally, a red-letter day (or any other colour in the deco marker range!)! The design is entirely up to you and the possibilities are endless. Why not give your letter box a fashionable retro look? How about drawing a bunch of flowers and a striking butterfly on the lid? Not only does the highly opaque ink dry to reveal a silk-matt finish, it is also waterproof. Good news for anyone who has to leave their letter box to the mercy of the elements.

edding’s paint markers are equally adept at decorating letter boxes. The opaque, paint-like ink leaves a wonderful shine, with a brilliance that is especially prominent on dark surfaces, such as black letter boxes or newspaper holders. Our tip: use the fine edding 780 paint marker (stroke width ~ 0.8 mm) to paint small envelopes onto your letter box. Next, take the edding 750 paint marker (stroke width ~ 2-4 mm) to write down the items of post that are most welcome in your letter box. The paint markers from edding have excellent non-fade properties and are available in four different stroke widths and in up to 14 waterproof colours.

edding products are available from stationery outlets. The recommended retail prices, including VAT, are as follows: € 3.35 for the edding 4000 deco marker (stroke width 2-4 mm) and the edding 4040 deco marker (stroke width 1-2 mm); € 3.19 for the edding 750 and € 3.29 for the edding 780.
