They don’t cost much, but they have a great effect – create your own home-made gifts and conquer hearts by storm. Helpful assistants: the pens and markers from edding.
(Ahrensburg, June 2004) Be it someone’s birthday, Christmas time or a barbecue party: there are several occasions each year when we all go in search of the perfect present. But it’s not that difficult simply to say goodbye to traditional or practical gifts and instead to discover a completely new way of giving. Why not take on the role of an artist or designer and use the range of pens and markers from edding to design your own gifts, large or small? You see, more often than not, gifts bearing the hallmark “I made it myself!” are not only more popular than last-minute purchases, they also adopt a special place in the heart of the lucky recipient. But worry not: you don’t need pots of money or bags of patience to make such creations. Because, with the help of edding, you can easily turn everyday objects - like a bottle of wine or a simple t-shirt - into great, eye-catching gifts.
We all love our grandparents. No wonder: for, when all is said and done, they are always prepared to turn a blind eye to all sorts of monkey business, and they always have a well-stocked larder of goodies. And because grandchildren appreciate such tolerance and generosity, even at a very early age, they are always giving them small gifts as a little “thank-you”. Home-made ones, naturally! What about a lantern, for example? Not only are they the “in” thing at the moment, but making them is also child’s play. All you need is (coloured) translucent paper, edding 1200 and 1300 color pens and an ordinary glass (the sort you drink out of) or a simple vase. Our tip: straight shapes are the easiest to design.
Firstly, cut the translucent paper to match the height and width of the lantern. Don’t forget: you need to calculate an extra 1 cm for the width to allow for gluing and overlapping. Next, use the color pens to decorate the translucent paper to your heart’s content, in any which way you fancy. You can even add your own personal message. Once you have done this, use double-sided sticky tape to attach the paper to the glass, sticking it down at each end. And there you have it! Still in the mood for more art-and-craft antics? No problem! Because you can create an added point of interest by cutting out small shapes from the translucent paper and getting them to protrude cheekily over the rim.
The edding 1200 color pens are available in 28 different colours and have a stroke width of 0.5 to 1 mm. The edding 1300 color pens have 20 different shades and a stroke width of 3 mm. Both models have a bullet tip.
